The Virtual House of Stuff

Here is where I have placed a variety of tid-bits for your web drifting pleasures (and mine as well). I have over time collected quite a few URLs that I enjoy visiting, yet have no clue what to do with. Rather than having a long disorganized list of favorite places that I must stare at 'till the eyes go, here they are in some form of order (I think) that is easier to view.

Like all else in this world of ours; this web page is always undergoing change, so keep coming back to check it out J ~peace

 One of my most favorite books in the whole wide world is called The Moral and Political Thought of Mahatma Gandhi by Raghavan Iyer. The ideals of peace, non-violence, and no-harm are so very important. If I had the opportunity I would spend the rest of my life studing conflict resolution, peace studies, and philosophy. Here are some links related to peace and non-violence;

The Celtic Blessing of the Nine Elements
May you go forth under the strength of heaven, under the light of sun, under the radiance of moon; may you go forth with the splendor of fire, with the speed of lightening, with the swiftness of wind; may you go forth supported by the depth of sea, by the stability of earth, by the firmness of rock; May you be surrounded and encircled, with the protection of the nine elements.

If you are from New England like I am, you may appreciate the Cow Sound. I had fun with this one! Perhaps it is because I like cows, or maybe I just have to much time on my hands. One evening when I found the page, my husband was upstairs. So I played the "MoooOOO" while adjusting the volume on my speakers to create an effect of a wandering bovine. I really had him going for a while (he did look for the stray cow out there in the dark)J . When I went upstairs the conversation went something like this:

Jon: "Did you hear that noise out there a little while ago?"

Me: " What noise?"

Jon: "The noise, you know, didn't you hear it?"

Me: "I think I heard something, what did it sound like?"

 While I'm still on the subject of cows, I want to mention that this site is definitely worth a look especially if you are concerned about mad cow disease. Even if you can't hear the sounds, the pictures are very descriptive.
